Learning, practice and review

Pokerista Academy is an educational service for adults learning Texas Hold’em. The curriculum connects rules and hand rankings with position, probability, decision models and a repeatable study routine. The aim is to help learners explain a decision and its assumptions, then review that reasoning after a practice exercise.

Content methodology

Pokerista Academy maintains the teaching explanations, worked examples and exercises. The curriculum draws on published rules, mathematical references and research. Example hands and decision trees are teaching exercises, rather than transcribed solver solutions. Stated response frequencies and equities are hypothetical inputs unless an exercise explicitly describes how they were calculated.

The scenario library combines original exercises with programmatically generated variations. Most scenarios are generated from reusable decision models, with changes to cards, stacks and other declared inputs. The number of scenarios therefore describes practice coverage, not a count of independently authored expert analyses.

The lessons distinguish drawing probability from showdown equity, chip value from tournament prize equity, and a final all-in price from a decision with future betting. Changing the model can change the answer. AI coaching can also make mistakes and should be checked against the stated game facts and assumptions.

Checks and review status

Automated checks cover card uniqueness, hand rankings, course prerequisites, answer structure and selected probability and expected value calculations. Numerical tests use explicit assumptions and, where applicable, enumerate possible outcomes. These checks help find errors in the material; they do not prove that a strategy is optimal in a real game.

Independent poker-expert editorial review remains pending. The Academy does not claim that every course or generated scenario has been reviewed by a professional player. Course completion is a record of participation, not certification, and no result at a poker table is guaranteed.
